Colton Briggs, a former gunslinger who has lately been domesticated is played by Cage. His wife Ruth and 12-year-old daughter Brooke live with him in the same house. Things go wrong when Ruth is home alone and an outlaw gang with a history with Colton shows there. When Colton gets home, a U.S. Marshal is waiting for him. He learns that Ruth has been killed. To the dismay of the marshal, Colton swears to kill the guilty parties and decides to go along for the voyage with his daughter.
