ASister Irene is given a mission by the church to discover why the evil is reappearing and what Valak wants in the wake of the brutal murder of a priest in France in 1956. Sister Debra is a tough new partner for her to work with as she must do this without Father Burke. They follow clues to an unsettling Catholic girls school, where their adversary reappears and reveals its motives. This time around, there is a better and more intriguing story arc to follow, where questions from the previous movie and universe are addressed, including Irene’s past and spiritual “gift.” There are more thriller with horror episodes this time around.
