The Asian setting of Avatar: The Last Airbender is ravaged by conflict. Earth, fire, water, or air are the four traditional elements that can be “bent” in that place. The protagonist of the show, Aang, is played by rookie Gordon Cormier. Aang is referred to as the “Avatar” and is supposed to bring about world peace because he is the only person who has the power to bend the elements. With the intention of conquering the elements, Aang enlists the aid of Katara Kiawentiio and Ian Ousley’s Sokka, his new allies. But at the same time, Aang is being pursued by Dallas Liu, the banished prince of Fire Nation, who is trying to regain his dignity by obtaining the Avatar.
