The majority of this literature has been published by Black authors, as the film acknowledges. It also admits that, sometimes, it is quite valid. A scene involving Monk and Sintara is presented at the conclusion. That effectively addresses the contradiction in entertainment with a Black subject. Wright’s portrayal of the Monk is excellent. He conveys the character’s bitterness over his circumstances in a funny way. His reluctant attempts to sell the book by posing as a wanted guy are the most humorous.
